CAMP FACILITIES: MODERN FACILITY: Broadway Gymnastic School is a stateof-the-art gymnastics and children’s fitness facility offering all equipment used in the Olympics as well as trampolines, mini tramp, tumble trak, creative obstacle courses and the zip-line (a favorite among our campers). We also have an activity room, lunch room, arts & crafts room, dance studio and free wi-fi.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our spectacular gymnastics and sports camp incorporates exercise and education into a fun-filled day program. Gymnastics is paired with a variety of sports, arts, drama, field trips, and an exciting array of activities captivates all ages until the camper goes home at 12:30 or 3pm. Before and after care is available and can be arranged at registration.

ACTIVITIES/TRIPS: Gymnastics is the foundation of our 2015 fitness day camp activities. Ball sports, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, music and dance round out the curriculum. We are also known for our educational field trips: Kid Concepts, Whale Watching, Sky Zone, Aquarium of the Pacific, California Science Center and Adventureplex.

Dance, music, art and science activities are scheduled throughout the summer. Campers get the chance to try new activities, discover new talents and gain confidence in themselves. Other special themed days include Bring- A-Friend Day, Karaoke, bounce houses, zip-lining, plus Water Days filled with water balloon activities and swimming adventures. At the end of each week BGS will host a Friday Night Traffic Jam Party from 3-3:30pm!

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS: Your child’s day will begin with gymnastics. Our training emphasizes the educational as well as the physical benefits of gymnastics such as concentration, self-discipline, psychological and emotional development, social adjustment and artistic expression. Positive feedback is constantly given so the camper not only develops good physical functioning of the body, but also gains self-confidence, self-respect, grace and poise. A customized curriculum has been designed for campers with special needs.

STAFF: The staff is headed by Broadway Gymnastic School Owners and Directors, Michael & Mary Cates and Facilities Manager & Camp Supervisor J.T. Moyé. Camp programs designed by the Cates are applauded by parents for the educational benefits, safety standards and enjoyment their children receive during the program. J.T. has been an integral part of the Camp program for many years, he has a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Connecticut and has had an accomplished career in the Theatre on Broadway.

Camp staff have backgrounds in child development, physical education, psychology and recreation as well as gymnastics. All staff are first aid & USAG certified. Broadway’s first rate staff & our commitment to our students makes certain all campers get the most out of each day!

COMPETITIVE TRAINING: An innovative summer training program has been designed for our pre-competitive and competitive gymnasts. World-class coaches train boys and girls for all levels of competition. Videotaping, dance and gymnastic related outings are planned for enrichment and cross training. We welcome competitive gymnasts who are vacationing in Los Angeles to join us.

COACH IN TRAINING PROGRAM

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camp is located at St. Michael's Abbey of the Norbertine Fathers. The camp utilizes our boarding school facilities for sleeping, eating, and praying in the abbey church.
Our 36 acre property is perfect for a boys' camp, with sports fields, hiking, and an on-site pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: St. Michael’s Summer Camp is a day and night resident camp for boys, ages 7-12. It has been in operation since 1962 and is accredited by the American Camping Association. Sessions are one week long, from Sunday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, extending from early July to early August.

Operated by the priests and seminarians of St. Michael’s Abbey, the camp offers good, wholesome fun in a safe environment, as well as instruction in the Catholic faith and participation in the sacraments.

With a wide variety of activities, ranging from classic team sports to tarantula hunting to epic battles that determine the fate of the entire universe, St. Michael’s Summer Camp is truly “Where All Boys Have Fun!”®

Upon their arrival on Sunday afternoon, the campers are divided into councils of 6-8 boys per counselor. The campers are always supervised. Even at night, two staff members are present in every dorm. Sleeping arrangements consist of three bunkrooms and one large military tent, each sleeping 3-6 councils.

What Can you Expect?
A typical day consists of breakfast, a morning workout, rest, lunch and speeches from the coaches followed by an afternoon workout and a group activity. You will learn visualization techniques, team-building skills and ways to maximize your performance through appropriate nutrition. 24-hour supervision is an important feature of every Nike Running Camp. CAMP FACILITIES: Training is held at the Potrero Field on campus. This complex features space equal to four full size soccer fields. The camp's exclusive use of these fields insures that they are in magnificent condition. Even our professional players on the staff, who expect perfect playing surfaces, appreciate the chance to work on such well-kept fields. Games are also held in the New Arroyo Hall gym next door to the dorms. Playing with tennis shoes and with the smaller indoor ball, campers get the challenge of playing a quicker game with restricted space.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our home is the stunning campus at Cal State Channel Islands located near Camarillo, CA. The university is surrounded by agricultural land and nestled at the base of the Santa Monica mountains. Our theatre-based workshops focus on developing personal and societal leadership, such as how to ask for what you need. In these sessions girls practice new tools for speaking up for themselves and for others.

We also create beautiful art projects, stay active outside, and always have a spirit theme for the day. These activities are designed to encourage girls to embrace who they are, reflect on what they believe, and give them an opportunity to express themselves creatively.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We only accept serious players with previous competitive soccer experience. Every year talented players attend our camps and challenge each other to the limit, growing in skill and experience. A number of our campers have experienced training trials with professional clubs in Holland. Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.

We fly in our coaches directly from the Netherlands. They are not merely coaches: they are also teachers. Many of our coaches have graduated from a four- year CIOS College. At the Central Institution of Sports, coaches not only received their coaching licenses from the global leader in soccer development: KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) but also learn how to work with, encourage and incentivize young athletes. CAMP FACILITIES: Parents use their local pool to supervise kid's stroke drills and video them underwater so they can see and correct their stroke.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1985, the only swim camps that teach parents how to teach their kids to swim like World Record holders using a smartphone underwater video camera. Our swimmers have won 43 Gold Medals, state and national championships, and have set 11 World Records.

Computer analysis of our swimmers at Colorado Springs showed that they doubled their peak hand force output in just five days. Dryland and Pool sessions are 3 hours each and include underwater videotaping and special drills to improve stroke efficiency. Most freestylers cut their stroke count in half. Each camp is a total of 30 hours.

Dryland sessions include stroke, strength and flexibility analysis, Microfiber Reduction to increase flexibility beyond what stretching alone can do, and stretches and strength training exercises. Each swimmer receives a 2500 yard workout to do at home after the camp, and a Somax Powerbelt to increase the strength and speed of hip rotation. Parents report improved school grades after chest expansion is doubled.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We have year-round individual programs for golf, tennis, running, soccer, baseball, football, and basketball which improve performance far beyond coaching and strength/endurance training. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live in cabins (wooden buildings with canvas window and door coverings). Up to 10 campers and 2 or 3 staff members live together. Bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are located nearby. Meals are served buffet style. We eat outside in the dining area. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Natoma has been providing a week of sleeping under the stars, an experience campers will remember for a lifetime, since 1941. It is operated by Friends of Camp Natoma, a non-profit organization, and is an American Camping Association (ACA) Accredited Camp. At Natoma, campers gain self-confidence, become positive team players, expand their imagination, and develop a relationship with the natural world around them. CAMP FACILITIES: SOAR has two major Base Camp facilities: one in Balsam North Carolina where we have rustic cabins, a dining pavilion, on site showers/bathrooms, high and low ropes course, as well as several gathering campfire locations. The other is in Dubois Wyoming, where we have similar amenities as above except, this base camp is a working horse ranch!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Philosophy: SOAR believes all individuals identified with learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit disorder (ADHD) possess inherent talents and gifts. These abilities can mean incredible success in adulthood once these students negotiate the challenging obstacles of childhood, adolescence, and a traditional education system, usually unable to respond to individual learning styles.

CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. 1. Camp Challenge Four-Week JROTC Leadership Development Program.

This camp is the only credit-producing Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) summer leadership course west of the Mississippi. The course is open to both male and female high school students (entering Grades 9 through 12.) The course consists of a combination of classroom work combined with adventure training activities and will reward successful participants with 180 hours of Leadership Education and Training (LET) Credit.

During the course, participants will develop self-confidence as leaders and as active team members as well as enhance his/her Core Values; Honor, Integrity, Responsibility, Loyalty, and Selfless Service. Additionally, this course is designed to add “Leadership” to Resumes and College Applications.

2. Camp Challenge Two-Week High School Leadership Education and Training.

This two-week leadership camp is designed for both male and female students (entering Grades 9 through 12) who are unable to attend the four-week JROTC Course but who are still interested in achieving a leadership training experience. Camper will choose one of the following electives for their focus: Leadership, Aviation,Computer Science, or ESOL.

3. Camp Challenge Two-Week Middle School Leadership Development Programs (LDP), Basic and Advanced.

LDP Basic is an introduction to leadership for students interested in exploring potential and enhancing existing skills while learning the fundamentals of citizenship. Campers gain invaluable life skills through fun activities and adventure based challenges that reinforce teamwork, accountability, discipline, and respect.

LDP Advanced can be taken after completion of LDP Basic and offers an advanced curriculum in leadership combined with an introduction to subjects that will help prepare campers for high school. This course focuses on the core values of responsibility , loyalty, and selfless service.

The UCLA Soccer Camps are held on the various fields on the Intramural Field, home to the 2013 National Champion UCLA Bruin Women's Soccer team. Overnight campers stay in the UCLA residence halls, and meals are served in the award-winning UCLA residential restaurants.

The residential restaurants offer a variety of food on an all-you-care-to-eat basis for a well-rounded, balanced diet. Their food choices range from items like soup and salad bars to American, Italian and various other cuisines. Overnight campers are housed in double- and triple-occupancy rooms, and are supervised by coaches and counselors also staying in the residence hall.
